Jay Rodriguez's Bio

Executive Producer

What does an Executive Producer do?

I'm the guy that schedules all the guests, makes travel arrangements, answers the phone, provides catering, and washes Marcus' car every Wednesday.

How long have you been doing what you do?

I've been working in radio since 1993, mostly in Houston.

What are some of your interests?

Oh geez,  where do I start? Comic books, science fiction, video games, and anything my daughter likes.

You still read comics?

Yup.

Who's your favorite character?

Spider-Man!

Any children?

Sophia.  She was born in November 2006, and she's beautiful.

How long have you been married?

Theresa and I have been married since July 2002.

What does your wife do?

She used to be a school teacher, but now she stays at home with our daughter.

I'm digressing, let's get back to you and the show.

Okay.

What is something that you bring to the show, that isn't already there?

Well...I'm kind of a "nerdy" guy.  Think about it, I probably like Star Wars & Spider-Man a little too much, so that makes me an easy target for jokes.  Now, let's add the fact that I can't swim, I'm kind of "un-hip" when it comes to fashion, and I enjoy watching the Discovery Channel.  Mix all that together and serve at room temperature. Hilarity will ensue.

What's wrong with the Discovery Channel?

Nothing.  I just spend a lot of time watching repeats of Mythbuster's and Dirty Jobs, when I could be watching a new episode of something else.  I just can't tear myself away.

Wow.  That....is.....interesting.

Don't even get me started on the Discovery Health channel.  I could watch that all day.  Fascinating.

Oooooookay.....I think we should end the interview now.

Was it something I said?

No, no...Oh look at the time!  I need to get going.

Wait, are we really finished?

Where you going?

Hello?  Well, back to work I guess.
